May 23, 2013Bayfield-Ashland Counties -$150 Be SOMEBODY +$ 75 Dues +$463 Insurance $7312.21 Current Balance Madeline Island and Red Cliff have not paid dues.Motion made by Dan Clark, seconded by Tam Hofman, to approve the financial report. Motion carried. A check was also received from Holden Insurance Agency for $463.00 after policy review. WITC Cindy Lazorik sent the message that she is ill and unable to attend. MMC Annette Soborowicz reported that the virtual drill is rescheduled for June 24th. A hazmat drill is being planned for the end of August. The keypad has been mounted where buttons are now. Codes are available from Annette at MMC. Garage concerns were discussed. Happy EMS Week. LIFELINK III Joel Timblin reported that Landing Zone training is being scheduled throughout the two counties. Discussion about family watching while HEMS takes-off after loading patient. The pilot will not start the blades if the situation is not safe. Open House at Rice Lake hanger on May 289th. Be SOMEBODY Be SOMEBODY standby event will be taking place Friday, May 31st in Brule beginning at 2 PM. All are welcome to participate&by being there, with or without equipment, and speaking on the radio. LAKE SUPERIOR RTAC Dan Diamon reported that the Bayfield Mock Crash held on May 15th went well with good, positive comments being heard. The crash has expanded to include the car on circuit to schools in Bayfield County as well as possible link to next years law day. · Medical Director/Service Director dinner/meeting scheduled for May 30th. · Trauma Basics courses still available. Contact Dan. · PI Committee is looking closely at falls in the region. · Banners Be SOMEBODY available for parade and display use. BLUE MASS A Blue Mass is being held on Wednesday, June 19th at Our Lady of the Lakes in Ashland. BIG TOP CHATAUQUA Big Top Chatauqua has requested assistance with EMS coverage. Motion made by Dan Clark, seconded by Steve Cordes, that licensed EMS providers whose services are members of the BAC-EMS Council be covered under the Council insurance when volunteering at Big Top Chatauqua. Motion carried. Washburn has received their new ambulance. CEP Carrie Miller of CEP explained a future grant possibility. Motion made by Tam Hofman, seconded by Merrilee Carlson, to participate in the Office of Rural Health planning grant with CEP. Motion carried.
