The July meeting of the Bayfield-Ashland Counties EMS Council was called to order by Dean Hambrecht, President of the Council. The meeting was held in the Mason Emergency Services Training Room.

Motion made by Chuck Elton, seconded by Merrilee to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Chuck Elton reported a total of $5,131.45 in the Council Treasury.

Motion made by Merrilee Carlson, seconded by Karl Kanneberg to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried.

MDAC – No meeting.

RTAC – No meeting.

FIREHOUSE FIFTY – Request for assistance with EMS coverage for the Firehouse Fifty Bike Race the first weekend in August.

MEDICAL DIRECTOR – Kevin Thornton was unable to attend but wanted to encourage folks to “call early” when transporting patients to MMC.

9-1-1 PUBLIC EDUCATION – Jan Victorson asked for suggestions as to groups of people to reach out to in the upcoming efforts related to 9-1-1 education. Suggestions included schools, church (notes in bulletins, presentations, etc.), Senior Centers, send info with taxes, etc. Handout ideas included: refrigerator magnets, general mailing, multi-page emergency booklet (Arrowhead EMS) and phone stickers.

SNOWMOBILE INTERSECTION SIGNS – Jan reported that the signing of intersections between named roads and snowmobile trails is on track to be completed this fall.

NEXT MEETING – The next meeting will be held on August 28^th at MMC. Merrilee Carlson will notify Jan of the room location.
