08 HYPOTENSION / HYPOVOLEMIA1. Establish level on consciousness. 2. Secure and maintain airway. Consider C-spine precautions. 3. Administer O2 to maintain SaO2 >95% (90% if hx COPD) 4. Talk to patient and reassure to decrease anxiety. 5. Complete Primary Survey. Initiate BCLS as indicated. Control external hemorrhage. Keep patient flat with legs elevated. Consider placement of Military AntiShock Trousers (MAST). 6. CALL FOR INTERCEPT IF INDICATED. 7. Associated symptoms = follow appropriate SOG. 8. Be ready to attach defibrillator if patient’s condition deteriorates. 9. Obtain Secondary Survey, History, Vital Signs. 10. Contact Medical Control. (Inflate MAST only if directed by Medical Control.) 11. Monitor Vital Signs and Condition en route. |
