13 POISONING1. Secure and maintain airway. Consider C-spine precautions. 2. Administer O2 to maintain SaO2 >95% (90% if hx COPD). 3. Complete Primary Survey. Initiate BCLS as needed. 4. CALL FOR INTERCEPT IF UNSTABLE OR CONDITION DETERIORATES. 5. Be ready to attach defibrillator if patient’s condition deteriorates. 6. Obtain Secondary Survey, History, Vital Signs. 7. Determine type and amount of poisonous material. CONTACT POISONING INGESTION POISONING1. DO NOT ENDANGER YOURSELF. 1. Determine time of ingestion. Notify Hazmat as necessary. Bring containers in if possible. 2. Contact Medical Control 2. Contact Medical Control 3. Remove clothing and jewelry. 3. Administer as advised: Brush off dry powder or solid material. Charcoal or Syrup of Ipecac. Flush with copious amounts of water or saline for 15 minutes. 4. If eye exposure: continuous irrigation 4.
